Clearly, humankind’s inherited sin prevents a person’s ability to develop a complete likeness.  So, how does one diminish the affects of sin?  In contrast, the “Son of God” was of the “Holy Ghost” which made the Messiah perfect and without fault.  However, most followers strive to achieve this likeness while knowing failure is inevitable because of the Human makeup .  First, did we actually “inherit sin”?  Secondly, what is the “human makeup”?

In Genesis 1, God standardizes the design requirements and styles for humans.  26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, […] 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  Then, inside Genesis 2, God defines the material used and constructs Adam.  Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.  Do human beings fully posses the “Holy Ghost” since they are constructed “in our image” or is “mankind” simply an empty container which a “Spirit” can be held?

It is often taught that Eve, a descendant of Adam was the first to sin, but was she truly the first?  “23[…] subdue it: and have dominion […] and over every living thing that move upon the earth” ~ Genesis 1.  “15 and the lord God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and keep it” ~ Genesis 2.  Adam acknowledges that Eve “[…] is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: (v 15)”.  Did Adam do as God had instructed, did he “keep” the Garden.  Did Adam teach Eve to use the granted authority of control to dominate the living serpent thing that moved upon the earth so that Eve could be an effective helpmate?  Ephesians 5 explains the role of the “head” as the original man was.  Was man’s lack of leadership skills a catalyst for Eve’s ignorance and the true source of sin?  Is this why Adam was driven out of Eden?  Did Eve leave of her own accord?

Was it yet again, a withdrawal of headship that further promoted foolishness by Cain?

What then is Sin?  Sin as defined by the Hebrew text is an offence, but against what?  Psalms 119 sheds some light, Sin is an offence to the law, direction, instruction, and to the word of God.

So is it people’s desire to offend or an inability formed by generational imprudence and lack of   meekness?  Are our vessels keeping the wrong spirit?  Is it truly impossible to be sinless?
